A bathroom is one room which a house cannot do without. It is tagged with different names in its formal names as a water closet, a restroom, a washroom or may be informally called the loo or john, or a visit to President Clinton. Basically, the main items found in the bathroom are the shower, toilet and sink, plumbing fixtures and sometimes with the optional bathtub as specified by its bathroom design.
In one small simple house, there may just be one bathroom; in luxury homes there may be quite a number of bathrooms, depending on the bathroom design of the house. Its main reason for being is to make the human body clean and refreshed after a long travel or from work and to conduct liquid and solid wastes to the septic tank or a sewer.
A full bath has a complete set of bathtub, shower, toilet and sink and the corresponding plumbing accessories like the cold and hot shower provision. Toilet, sink and shower make a bathroom a 3/4 bath. The powder room which is sometimes used by guests during parties is a half bath where toilet and sink are installed. When discussing with one’s residential design specialist or when a house is being advertised for sale, the number of bathrooms are described as 3.1 for three baths and one half bath or 4.3 which means four full baths and 3 half baths.
