What is a modern home and is it the choice of home plan for you? There are three ways to describe the modern home.

Energy efficient – This a key concept that many residential design specialists now strive to meet. It can appear in a number of forms. Windows that will keep out the cold and keep the heat in. Solar panels that will make water hot. Energy efficient lightning systems or waste management that allows us to recycle as much as possible.

Easy to manage – Modern means the least amount of care and attention is needed. We all have such busy lives now and this is unlikely to change. A four-acre garden that needs pruning every week  is not modern. A garden that is paved in a decorative way with plants that need little water is easy to manage.

Cost effective – People also want as much for the money as they can buy. Value is not comprised for quality. House owners want both. Materials are sourced from someone with a good reputation, paying  double for paint just because it is a brand name is no longer practical. The world is tightening its belt and people want to see as much for their money as they can.
